George Headshot

George Hamlin Secretary & Office Manager

George Hamelin’s passion for music began in his Georgia hometown, where he started playing bass guitar at the age of nine. Despite grappling with ADHD and later being diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder Type II at thirteen, George found solace and expression in music.

During his high school years, George co-founded “A Lasting Proposal,” a band that made waves across the southeastern United States. Sharing stages with prominent acts like “My Children My Bride” and “Memphis May Fire,” George’s dynamic vocals and stage presence garnered acclaim.

However, George’s priorities shifted when he became a parent in 2010, prompting him to step away from the band to focus on fatherhood. Nevertheless, his passion for music endured, leading him to collaborate with Matthew Bankston on the indie rock project “The Modern Medicine.”

Amidst the challenges of the pandemic, George, Matthew, and Jason Barnes came together to establish Cybernetic Sound Inc., a nonprofit aimed at providing a supportive space for musicians with disabilities. Through their band “Manic Wave” and their studio, George and his collaborators strive to inspire others, demonstrating the unifying power of music regardless of life’s obstacles.
